IN LOCKDOWN, BUT TRIPLE CERTIFIED! ARMOR India has not been spared from Covid-19, having been in lockdown since 23 March. Under the circumstances, adaptability is the watchword among the teams – now more than ever. So it is with great pride that ARMOR India in Bengaluru, announced in late April to have passed not 1 but 3 audits… all remotely!
50 hours, 4 auditors and a mountain of flexibility were called for to enable our Indian teams to obtain their 3 ISO certifications:
ISO 9001 – quality management system (QMS)
ISO 14001 – environmental management system (EMS)
ISO 45001 – occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system
Internally, the certifications help to consolidate the Health, Safety and Environment culture. It also presents the opportunity to motivate all staff around a collective and shared project designed to ensure compliance with Group standards;
Externally, the certifications will undoubtedly raise confidence among all stakeholders, both customers and the authorities.
The audit was performed entirely remotely, thanks to the invaluable support of numerous communication systems available to the personnel.
“It is the first time that I have participated in an audit performed remotely. It was even more of challenge as we had to coordinate between 4 different auditors. But we rose to the challenge with great enthusiasm and can be proud of the outcome”, states Devaki Ambi, Quality, Safety & Environment (QSE) Engineer.
